Based in Muswell Hill, North London, N10
I adore working with kids and treat each photography session as a kind of playdate, where I get to know your children and make them laugh.
Often the kids leave begging their parents to come back for more!
Before the photoshoot, I’ll do a pre-session consultation with you to find out the type of image you’re after and how you’d like to display your portraits. This way I can plan ahead and keep things efficient, getting the best out of your little one and keeping session times down to around half an hour.
Your child can do what they like; there’s no rule book for posing or behaving. If they want to sit on mama’s lap and have a snuggle, that’s gorgeous. If they want to jump around and show off their dancing to me, that’s great. And everything in between.
I believe kids are perfect already; they don’t need OTT costumes or silly hats to look cute. I’ll suggest neutral outfits so the focus is all on them.

How long does a baby/ childhood photoshoot take?
Typically a kids’ photography session takes around 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your little one’s age. Babies around 7 months old generally manage shorter sessions, that’s why I pre-plan the shoot with you in terms of what you’re after, so we don’t waste time during the photoshoot.
What should I dress my Baby or child in?
Less is more! Typically I advise parents to dress their little angels in neutral, neutral colours. So think whites, greys, khakis, navy blues. Jeans are great with grey t-shirts for boys and girls. Plain, white summer dresses look amazing on girls. But keep it simple. The focus is all about your kid, not what they’re wearing. During our pre-session consultation I’ll talk you through in more detail what to bring.
Yes of course! As a parent I know how hard it can be to just focus on one child and not the other – so if you’d like to mark your younger child’s milestone, such as sitting up or standing, then why not bring his older siblings along too. It makes for great shots when older brothers or sisters help their baby sister, such as holding her hand or cuddling her. Precious memories for mum and dad for many years to come.
My child won’t sit still and I’m worried he’ll misbehave throughout the session.
Please don’t worry! In fact, I actually encourage a little cheekiness during the session as this helps your child to feel at ease and enjoy it (without being told what to do all the time). I’m a mum of two active, cheeky boys myself and so know how to deal with children who are playing up a bit. It’s ok – they all do it, it’s perfectly natural and I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to keep them on board.
My firstborn was like this too. We’ll take it really slowly and play soft, gentle music as he arrives. I’ll give him a few new toys to keep him busy and very carefully start interacting with him to make sure he’s comfortable with me. Often I can spend a little time at the beginning of the photoshoot to play with babies so they trust me. Then by the time I pick up my camera, they’re not afraid to be themselves.
How do you keep the studio clean and safe in these COVID times?
I take cleanliness and hygiene with a new baby extremely seriously. I always do, regardless of the pandemic. I am following the advice given to photographers from several national bodies, such as to make sure the studio is deep cleaned between clients, to always wear a mask and tie my hair back, to make sure the space is well ventilated and so on.
