I am a Muswell Hill-based photographer with a custom-built studio and have been photographing families for over 10 years. I launched maternity photoshoots during the 2020 lockdown as a way to celebrate our bodies and what we can achieve, despite adversity.

But with amazing industry lights and editing I can make you look and feel your best. You’ll walk away with classic, timeless and fresh images in my signature neutral style.

How it works

I understand you may not be feeling your best right now. But know this: you look amazing, just the way you are. You don’t need to be a 6ft model or a size 8 to look great in pregnancy photos.

At my studio I encourage all women, of all shapes and sizes, to take part in pregnancy photoshoots. The focus is very much on your bump – and the miracle of life growing inside you – and together with the best industry lighting and a few teeny tiny enhancements in photoshop, we can make you look and feel your best.

Many of my clients choose to have their bump photographed and then separately, their newborn. This shows the amazing journey they’ve been on and are amazing keepsake photos for when your child gets older too.

The Experience

You’ll feel very at ease during my studio sessions, which last around an hour. I have a variety of neutral and classic bodysuits and outfits for you to try so you feel comfortable.

Many women who come to me say that they left my studio feeling empowered and more body confident than before they went in. That’s a huge compliment. Come join in!!

PREGNANCY PHOTOSHOOT – £195

The session fee includes a 1hr pregnancy photoshoot session at my studio in Muswell Hill, 10-20 images fully edited for viewing, a pre-session consultation over the phone or in-person, and a cinematic-style viewing appointment at my studio.

Prints and digital images are extra – see below for more details.

FREE CHARITY PHOTOSHOOT!

Fancy a totally free pregnancy photoshoot? As part of my ongoing #AsYouAreMotherhood campaign across Instagram and Facebook, I’m inviting mums-to-be and new mums to come into my studio and have their photo taken (limited sessions available so enquire early!).

I want you to celebrate and ‘own’ your body, even though it’s changing or has changed due to pregnancy. I strongly believe that you are perfect in your own way – that you don’t need to be a size zero or have longer hair or have a different shape to look incredible.

I challenge you to have faith in yourself, turn up at my studio and with the best camera lighting, experience of camera angles and amazing editing, you will look and feel A-MAZ-ING darling!

Because you, as you are, are the best.

You are already doing enough. You are enough.

Instead of charging you £195 for the photoshoot, I would instead ask you to donate a minimum £95 to Little Village through my JustGiving page.

The option to purchase digital prints or images will be available (see below for details on how you ‘create your own collection’). But you don’t have to. Your photo will go into an online gallery, anonymous if you prefer, celebrating the women that could stand up for their own everyday extraordinary.

Many clients choose to create a collection. First, design a piece of art.

Many of my pregnant mamas-to-be are so happy with how their images have turned out that they want to celebrate the occasion with their very own piece of signature wall art. A valued display piece that marks the moment and displays the miracle growing inside of them.

2. Choose digital images

Next, choose either:

All large digital files: £795 (delivered on USB memory stick, printable to larger than A1, with custom proof prints box with all prints and 24 announcement/ thank you customisable cards designed by me)

All medium digital files: £445 (printable to A4 size, delivered online)

Alternatively, if all you want is your online images to do what you want with them; to share them with friends or family or print in your own time, that’s fine!

A set of 10 is £445.

The choice is of course yours.

Louisa is incredibly talented. I did a maternity photoshoot with her, and from the second I walked through the door, she made me feel confident and comfortable enough that I relaxed throughout the session and actually had quite a lot of fun despite being slightly apprehensive going in. Her work absolutely blew me away, and I would recommend any and every pregnant woman out there to get Louisa to capture this unique and fleeting moment.

I loved my maternity shoot. Louisa was friendly and professional and put me at complete ease during the photo session. I’ve not really had many photographs taken of me while pregnant in the past. I have tended to hide myself away in the background in blanket coats and loose dresses or behind strategically placed family members! So making my pregnant body the star of the show was far beyond my comfort zone. However I left the studio feeling relaxed and more confident in myself.

I’m so glad that I took the chance to document what is highly likely to be my final pregnancy and see myself in a different light through her work.

FAQs

How long does a pregnancy photoshoot take?

Typically a maternity photography session takes around 1hr. This allows for a few outfit changes as well as plenty of time to rest between photographing so we don’t wear you out!

What should I wear to a maternity photoshoot?

My style is natural and neutral. I usually advise mamas-to-be to bring a pair of skinny jeans (pre-maternity is fine as we’re not going to do them up!), as well as a few oversized tops or blouses – some women borrow from their husband and that’s a great idea. In term of outfits, I have some lovely, flattering body suits which you can try.

Can I bring my husband, or other kids along?

Of course you can! The more the merrier. As a top rated pregnancy photographer, London, I’ll aim to capture a few shots of you with various groupings and then some of you and your bump on your own. It can be a really lovely image when older siblings are photographed next to the bump: it makes them feel really special.

How much is a maternity photoshoot?

My pregnancy photoshoots are £95 for the session. This includes the 1hr session itself, 10-20 images fully edited for viewing, a home visit/ phone consultation prior to the shoot to find out exactly what you’re after and the viewing and ordering appointment where you’ll see your images projected onto the big screen, cinema style.

Many clients then choose to buy a mixture of print products (from £195) and digital images (from £445) as part of my Create A Collection package.

Don’t you have to be super slim with a tiny bump for a successful photoshoot?

Not at all! Using my 15+ years of experience with a camera, the best industry lighting and the best, most subtle editing techniques, I can get you looking AND FEELING your best for the photoshoot. You will truly feel like you belong at my studio; I actively encourage all shapes and sizes.
