How it works
A few years ago I went through a life-changing illness and then shortly after, experienced a deep and sudden tragedy. I lost my mum suddenly, she was taken way before her time. What this horrific experience has taught me is that, life really is too short, and you’ve got to live it the way you want to live it, before it’s too late.
Slowly, I’ve learned to slow down, to be more present with my kids, to accept myself as I am and to be more self-compassionate. I was living on auto-pilot not really experiencing or enjoying my life before all this happened. And now I’m back in the driving seat fully engaged.
My new creative photography approach as a portrait photographer, Kent, came about after everything that happened. I wanted to let go and pour my heart and soul into my work and in the process, help to heal other women too. The more I speak to mums, friends, connections, the more I realise we are ALL going through something.
Some of the amazing models that have posed for me in my latest series of work have been through huge life-changing events. One woman is getting over cancer. Another has just come out the other side of a horrendous menopause. One is celebrating being a grandmother for the first time, while also still having to care for her ageing parents. We are all in different life stages and yet we can all connect in the everyday struggles.
What’s important is not to lose ourselves completely when life throws you these curveballs. I’ve lost myself many times over the past twenty years, in the thick of motherhood in the early days and then with severe illness in hospital. Those moments where you think: what am I doing with my life? Why am I here? What do I really want to do? Is this the way I really want to live my life? Am I really feeling fulfilled and living the dream or is it falling through my hands?
These creative photoshoots are largely about saying, you know what, I AM here, I AM present and I AM in the driving seat. It’s about celebrating you for all of who you are, the ups and the downs, the good and the bad, the great days and the worse days.
I will work with you to find out a little about you, how you want to be seen and to find your true you, the essence of you that is always there underneath all of life’s turbulences.
This is a real creative, soul-fulfilling experience. I can’t wait to share it with you!
Believe me, you’ll really feel like you ‘belong’ with me. I guarantee I’ll put you at ease so we can all enjoy our session together.

I’m so happy with the overall photos. The colours of the images are outstanding and you made it all look amazing. I really love the overall printed wall art you did for us too, it’s in our hallway and we walk past it everyday, reminding us of some magical times when the kids were so young. Thank you for the great job.
Thank you for these precious photos of us as a family after the birth of our second daughter. It’s lovely to have these pics as our family unit is now complete and you did such a great job of making my eldest feel at ease and happy with her photoshoot experience.
Ah these shots are so lovely I don’t know which ones to choose from! It’s great that we have so many lovely photos and the photoshoot itself was a really nice experience. My daughter had a great time.
I absolutely adore the photos you took of my daughter and her friend in the park. What a special time and as she grows up I will treasure these. I’ve already printed them into a beautiful wall collage which I’m so happy with. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.
These images are stunning. You are really talented, even managing to capture a beautiful portrait of my son during the pouring rain. Thanks for this photo, I’ll treasure this one in particular forever as it’s really ‘him’.
We love, love the photos. As usual you’ve produced images that we’re blown away by and I’m so grateful.
Louisa was absolutely wonderful throughout the process. She takes a lot of time to understand what you are looking for and instantly puts you at ease. She was able to work some special magic with our 3 month and 2 year old, and we couldn’t be happier with our family portraits! I can highly recommend her.
How long does a creative photoshoot take?
The actual photoshoot will be a few hours, but we’ll also get to know each other a bit before the day as we talk about what it is you really want to be seen as, outfit choices and your style. Our journey together will be over a matter of weeks and everything comes together for the final shoot.
What if it rains or is freezing on our photoshoot day?
Don’t worry, I can always reschedule a photoshoot if the weather doesn’t behave how we’d like it to. However, in true British spirit, I tend to persevere with the session as long as it’s dry outside. Having said that, nobody wants a miserable, freezing shoot, so if it’s pouring it down or unexpectedly cold then I’ll re-arrange free of charge.
What should I wear to a creative photoshoot?
This is something we’ll discuss in detail before the day. You can pick from my extensive range of dresses, outfits and props or I can design something bespoke for you.
I can make you an original outfit that nobody else has worn, from the weird and wonderful to the beautiful and glorious. There are no limits to our imagination and we’ll create together: I want you to experience your very own Narnia moment where you step into my world and in turn, discover who you really are – all of you.
What about make-up and hair?
I work with some amazing people who know exactly how to get you looking how you’d like. I can hire in some Make-Up Artists or do a bit myself, depending on your budget. The idea here is to get as creative as you like – don’t hold yourself back! This is your moment to shine, to be pampered and indulge yourself.
What do I do with the images afterwards?
Many clients print out their best images and have a few in frames around the house. What an amazing feeling to have something hanging on the wall that you pass everyday and remember how great you felt and looked on that day! Others choose to print a glorious, handmade album of the best images – a keepsake you can keep and choose to look at in your own time. These also make amazing gifts and family heirlooms.
What if I have no clue on make-up or costume design or style?
Haha don’t worry! I can help guide you every step of the way and you can trust in my vision for you. You’ll be surprised how much you do know the true you and we can work together to co-create. There will be no surprises so we can truly get an image that represents you and brings out the best and magic of you.
